I Fell Off Stage

I think it's safe to say that at the time of writing this, last night may have been one of the funniest nights since I've been in ministry. The B-SHOC Team has been laughing non stop for the past 12 hours. I wish so bad that we could have caught this on camera so you could enjoy the moment too, but since we didn't, I'm going to try my best to describe it just how it went down.

If you have ever attended a B-SHOC Show, you know that I get around the stage pretty quickly and keep it moving, so naturally you would think that I just jumped a little to far one time, and landed off the stage. Nope! Not the case at all... I was about halfway done with the show. I had sat everybody down to present the Gospel and give people an opportunity to make decisions for Christ. I had asked everyone to bow their heads and close their eyes. I stepped out of the spot light on to our subwoofers to be able to see the audience better as I asked them questions and having them respond by raising their hands. At this very moment, it was probably the most crucial, serious, spiritual, time of the show.

With every head bowed and every eye closed what does everyone hear? POW!!!! BANG!! BOOM!! CRASH!!!!!!! WHOOSH!!! BANG! I had stepped right off of the subwoofer and landed in a plastic bin, one foot going straight thru the top, getting stuck, and throwing me off balance to begin the fall into the next plastic bin, turning the bin over on it's side and loosing my balance again, all at the same time keeping a tight grip on the expensive microphone making sure to amplify EVERYTHING thru the speakers! I'm thinking about calling the Guinness Book of World Records to let them know we recorded the longest timed, loudest, short distance fall in history last night.

Of course no one had their eyes closed anymore, and they opened their eyes to see B-SHOC missing from the stage. I jumped to my feet, hopped on stage, and the whole place laughed and laughed. We all laughed together for a long time. I had gotten so tickled over it that I could barely talk for a couple minutes. I told them we were making memories for sure! I will never forget this!

But here is the cool part... after we got past the comedy of it, I knew that we needed to get back to the serious moment, and although it took a few minutes of speaking to get there, 45 people got saved, and stood up in front of everyone to make a statement that they had accepted Jesus into their heart.

So here's my message to you... even if you fall, get back up, because God still wants to use you! :-)

Should Christians be on Facebook?

It seems that some Christians are suggesting that Christians stay away from Facebook. Obviously the reason is due to all the negative and nonChrist-like things that are found on Facebook. I would agree with this for anyone that has a strong concern of being conformed negatively by what they see on Facebook.

But in every other case... Yes! Absolutely! Christians should be on Facebook! As funny as it may sound, I believe that if Facebook existed 2000+ years ago, Jesus would have been on Facebook. Why? Because Jesus hung out with the sinners, and all of us sinners now hang out on Facebook!

Instead of shutting ourselves off from it, we should use it to shine our light! We can make a difference for the Kingdom of God just by our Facebook posts! In the old days you would have to jump on a horse and ride for days just to have an opportunity to witness to someone about Jesus! Now we can send a message around the world instantly from our cell phone to Facebook! Crazy! We got it made!!! And to think we wouldn't use that to our advantage... Now that really IS crazy!

Let me put it like this... I recently heard a statistic that the current number of Facebook members is larger than the population of the third largest country. So basically by saying we are staying off Facebook, we are saying, "We aren't going to minister to the third largest country in the world."

I challenge you to use Facebook as an avenue to tell people about your faith. I'm not saying that every post has to be so spiritual. Just be real, celebrate life, be encouraging, and let them know about Christ. Lost people aren't usually reached by you shoving Jesus down their throat, but by them seeing the abundant and peaceful life that you have because you do have Christ in your life. Share the love! Login to facebook and let your light shine!

Cars or Donkeys?

Not to long ago I received an email from a pastor asking me where in the Bible it said to do the "Jesus Lean". Obviously he didn't agree with my method of outreach. Now for those of you that don't know, the "Jesus Lean" is a song that I created and released with a music video containing a dance that has become very popular. At the time of writing this, it has over 250,000 YouTube views and has been mentioned in Relevant Magazine and also many online publications.

I couldn't help to be a little bit bothered by the fact that this was a Christian criticizing the unique way we found to draw people in to teach them about Jesus. Aren't we on the same team? I wanted to ask him if he ever cooked his food with a microwave, and then ask him where the microwaves were in the Bible. If we were to look at it that way, then we need to get rid of our cars and ride on donkeys instead, because after all, that's what Jesus did. There were no cars in the Bible.

(Ok so I just now got a mental picture of Jesus driving a bright red convertible corvette, LOL!)

Back on topic... I just want to point out that in 1 Corinthians 9:22, Paul says... "I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some." I have personally found a common ground thru the style of music I make in order to save lives. Your common ground that you find can be totally different than mine. I met a man last weekend that takes people fishing all the time. On the boat he has an opportunity and time to talk about Jesus. That's his ministry. I encourage you to find common ground with people, find your ministry, do whatever it takes, (short of sin) to reach people for Jesus!

I pray this has encouraged you in some way. Please be a blessing and share it with someone else. You can click one of the tiny share icons below. May God bless you!

How to Love Haters

The world is full of haters, people trying to tear you down for any type of success you have. And let's face it, some are just down right mean for no reason.

God wants us to love ALL people, but of course this gets difficult with haters, right? So how do we love them? I hope to shed some light on what is really going on here and that you can learn to look past the surface of a hater. Once you get a better understanding of the reality, I believe you will see a way to love them ALL.

God is LOVE, and we were made in his image. This means we are made with love to love. In other words, your haters were made to love and not to hate. So what happened? Weather you realize it or not, we live in a world where there is a constant spiritual battle between good and evil. Therefore when someone is hating, it means the evil has gotten a hold of them. So it's not really them, it's the evil. To love them, we have to detach the hating characteristic from the person. Underneath the hate is love. The person is LOVE. The action is HATE. You've heard it before, "God hates sin but loves the sinner." See past the surface of their actions and know that God made an all loving person inside. THAT is who you love!

Remember when God saw His creation, he said it was good. So underneath the bad (evil), there is good! Again, THAT is who you love!

I hope and pray this helps you to love. This world needs more LOVE! Let's love ALL the people that God has created. Maybe you feel this could help others as well, please share this link by clicking the tiny icons below. Thank you for spending time with me today on my blog! Guess what, I LOVE you! :-)

My Child Went Wild

This is for the concerned parent. In my ministry, I am approached on a regular basis by parents that are concerned about the things their children, that are so precious to them, have gotten into. You may be the one saying... "I didn't raise my child like this... how did this happen?"

Some may believe that I'm not qualified to write on this topic, being that one of the key credentials would be that I should be a parent to understand. But I've got an even better perspective, for I have at one time been the "wild child". Let's take a walk in my shoes for a moment. To make a very long testimony short, I was raised in a Christian home, was taught Christian values, and understood high moral standards. I can honestly say that I don't believe my parents could have done a better job. As a matter of fact, I will be asking them for advice when I have children of my own. However, the "world" still got ahold of me, and I went running wild and began on a path that led to destruction. My "wild" may not be the same as your child's "wild". (Every situation is different; rebellion, drugs, disrespect... the list goes on for miles.) But we are dealing with the same principles.

One thing that I hope encourages you first of all is to see my testimony. That thru prayer from my parents and many others, God has done an incredible work in my life. I know that God has used all of my "wild" past for the good. (Romans 8:28). Not only do I have a powerful testimony to share and lead other people to Jesus, but I know with out a shout of a doubt, I would not be as strong now if I didn't go thru my mistakes and learn from them. At the time of the writing of this blog, we have seen an estimated 2,000+ lives saved thru this ministry. Now if that's not God turning my "wild" past into something awesome, I don't know what is!

Philippians 4:6 tells us not to worry, but to pray about everything. We are to give our worries to God. Now we all know that's much easier said than done, but one thing that will help take this "giving worry to God" process to another level is... you have to not only give your worries to God, but your child also. This is where you will feel peace and relief begin to kick in. It is wise to understand that YOU may not be able to fix it, but the Almighty GOD, who loves His children so much, CAN! Remember God is also a parent that loves HIS children way more than we could ever imagine loving our own. Your child is a true gift from God (Psalm 127:3). Before your child was yours, he/she was His, and still is. Let go, and give to God.

So what do you do as you give your child to God? Of course continue to pray for your child (Lamentations 2:19), but here is something I think is super important. LOVE your child thru it. I'm not saying to be okay with their actions or condone any misbehavior, but continue to LOVE them. Here's what I'm getting at... There will come a point in time when they see the light and understand their wrongdoings. Sometimes it may even mean hitting rock bottom before they come to this realization. But when that time comes, they are going to run to the ones that love them first. And I know that you want your home to be their place of refuge.

I hope and pray this message has touched you. If it has, please share this link with others by clicking on the tiny icons below. There are many hurting parents out there that could use some encouragement. Be a blessing to someone :-) I love you all!

My Goal Is To Inspire

Well, it's about 2:15am. Yep, the wee hours of the night is some of my most productive times. I'm here to share life with you. I've now been in ministry for about 2 1/2 years, and the longer I'm here, the more I want to be innovative about teaching the Word of God and how it applies to our lives. I remember when I was young, and also before ministry, I used to put preachers/ministers on a pedestal. That's exactly what I DON'T want you to do with me. You may consider me a leader and a teacher, but WE are ALL equal. My goal is to be as real with you as I can, to let you know that us ministers need Jesus just as desperately as you do. I plan to share stories with you, blessings that have come my way, and also challenges in my life. Let's learn together!

So what do I need from you? Feedback. Although I'm not here to please people, but to please our Heavenly Father, I enjoy hearing from you what is most effective in your life from the B-SHOC Ministry. Between studio time, travel time, marketing and promotion, video shoots, concerts, B-SHOC TVs, etc. I keep a FULL schedule, which I'm so thankful for. Therefore I want to be wise in adding something else to my schedule (blogging). This may be the last blog I write. Or it could be the first of thousands. As this blogging journey begins, please place comments below to let me know what you think.

I love you all, and cherish your love, prayers, and support more than you imagine.
